Third Person
Third Person ( 3 parts Of subject - first person, second person and third person

C) Third Person:-

(he, she, it, they, themself, themselves, her, herself, him, himself, itself.,...)

*********************************************

  • The third person used for people, animals, things, or abstract ideas without using first or second-person pronouns.(तीसरा व्यक्ति लोगों, जानवरों, चीजों या अमूर्त विचारों के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है, पहले या दूसरे व्यक्ति के सर्वनाम का उपयोग किए बिना।)

  • Third-person pronouns are used for people or things that are not the first person (speaker) or the second person (addressee).(तीसरे व्यक्ति के सर्वनाम का उपयोग उन लोगों या चीजों को संदर्भित करने के लिए किया जाता है जो पहले व्यक्ति (स्पीकर) या दूसरे व्यक्ति (पताकर्ता) नहीं हैं।)

  • use of third person pronoun help us to distinguish between first person, second person and third person .(तीसरे व्यक्ति सर्वनाम का उपयोग हमें पहले व्यक्ति, दूसरे व्यक्ति और तीसरे व्यक्ति के बीच अंतर करने में मदद करता है।)

Forms Of Third Person :-

There are 4 (four) forms of third person -

a) Third Person "Singular":- "He", "She", "It"

when we have third person singular pronoun and if the sentence will be in simple present tense then it is very important to maintain subject-verb agreement.

i.e, "if the subject given in singular form then we will have to use verb in plural form".

example- He(singular pronoun) goes to the market.

and "if the subject given in plural form then we will have to use verb in singular form".

example- They(plural pronoun) go to the market.

Examples

1) He cries loudly.

2) He makes fun of me.

3) She opens the door.

4) Sun rises in the east.

5) It looks very beautiful.

6) Puppy looks very cute.

7) Richa wears a beautiful dress.

8) Sachin Tendulkar plays cricket.

In all the above sentence you can see that all the subjects are given in singular form and so the verbs used are in plural form.

उपरोक्त सभी वाक्यों में आप देख सकते हैं कि सभी विषयों को एकवचन रूप में दिया गया है और इसलिए प्रयुक्त क्रियाएं बहुवचन रूप में हैं।

b) Third Person "Plural":- "They", "Them"

when we have third person plural pronoun and if the sentence will be in simple present tense then it is very important to maintain subject-verb agreement.

i.e, "if the subject given in plural form then we will have to use verb in singular form".

example- They (plural pronoun) go to the market.

and "if the subject given in singular form then we will have to use verb in plural form".

example- She(singular pronoun) goes to the market.

Examples

1) They cry loudly.

2) They make fun of me.

3) They open the door.

4) They wake up early in the morning.

5) They look very beautiful.

6) They look very cute.

7) They wear beautiful dress.

8) They play cricket.

9) Take care of them.

10) All four of them went outside.

11) This was a very bad experience to them.

In all the above sentence you can see that all the subjects are given in plural form and so the verbs used are in singular form.

उपरोक्त सभी वाक्यों में आप देख सकते हैं कि सभी विषयों को बहुवचन रूप में दिया गया है और इसलिए प्रयुक्त क्रियाएं एकवचन रूप में हैं।

c) Third Person "Possessive":

"His", "Hers", "its", "theirs", "ours"

used to indicate ownership or possession by the speaker or group of speakers.

स्पीकर या वक्ताओं के समूह द्वारा स्वामित्व या कब्जे को इंगित करने के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है।

Examples

1) This is his bag.

2) His house is very beautiful.

3) She open hers door.

4) They wear theirs dress.

5) Theirs dance is very beautiful.

6) Hers look is very cute.

9) Hers taking care is useful for me.

10) His song is very nice .

11) This was hers bad experience.

13) It's tail is so small.

d) Third Person "Reflexive":-

*Herself, himself, itself - Singular

*Themselves - Plural

( Themselves is the plural of herself, himself, itself...etc..)

example - Reema did this work by "herself". So we can see here that only one Reema exist here so we will use "herself" but we know that there were many people named Reema is living in our India. So we'll use "They" pronoun not "her" pronoun for all of the Reema living in India.

So we'll use reflexive "themselves" not "herselves", "himselves", "itselves".

So the plural of "her", "his", "it" are "themselves".

रीमा ने यह काम "खुद" किया। तो हम यहाँ देख सकते हैं कि केवल एक ही रीमा यहाँ मौजूद है इसलिए हम "खुद" का उपयोग करेंगे लेकिन हम जानते हैं कि रीमा नाम के कई लोग हमारे भारत में रह रहे हैं। इसलिए हम भारत में रहने वाली सभी रीमा के लिए "वे" सर्वनाम का उपयोग करेंगे न कि "उसका" सर्वनाम का।

when the subject and the object of a sentence are the same it is called a reflexive pronoun. In other words when the action of the verb is being performed by the subject on itself it is called a reflexive pronoun.

जब किसी वाक्य का कर्ता और वस्तु एक ही हो तो उसे निजवाचक सर्वनाम कहते हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में जब क्रिया की क्रिया कर्ता द्वारा स्वयं पर की जा रही हो तो उसे निजवाचक सर्वनाम कहते हैं।
