The Indian 2-rupee note was a denomination of Rupee introduced in 1943. It is the second smallest note ever printed in India.

The two rupee note was first introduced in India in 1947 and had several subsequent versions over the years. However, the production and circulation of two rupee notes have been discontinued.
Currently, the two rupee denomination is available in the form of coins. These coins are made of various materials, such as brass, nickel, and stainless steel. The design of the two rupee coin features the national emblem, the Lion Capital of Ashoka, on the obverse side, and the denomination and year of minting on the reverse side.
