Maa Dewri Mandir

Maa Dewri Mandir, also known as Dewri Temple, is a famous Hindu temple located in Tamar village near Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand.  It is located near the Tata- Ranchi Highway NH-33. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, Kali,  who is worshipped by the locals with great devotion. The murti have 16 hands . The ancient mandir was constructed by interlocking stones without using any binding materials.

At the temple devotees tie red and yellow threads on bamboo to fulfilment of their wishes. Devotees also donate bell to the temple after fulfilment of their wishes. Dewri mandir is located little outside of Ranchi city. The temple attracts a large number of devotees, especially during the Navratri festival, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor. Devotees from different parts of Jharkhand and neighboring states visit the temple to seek the blessings of Maa Durga. The temple premises also have facilities for accommodation and basic amenities for the convenience of the devotees.

The temple complex consists of the main shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga.  Devotees visit the temple to offer prayers, seek blessings, and fulfill their wishes. The atmosphere of the temple is peaceful and serene, providing a spiritual retreat for visitors.

Architecture:

The mandir was built during 16th to 20th century. The murty has 16 arms an avatar of goddess Durga. The old temple is made up of stones without any binding materials. At present time outside of the old temple very big and beautiful temple made by artisan.

Deity: The mandir is of Maa Deudi Devi, Maa Kali.The murti of the diety has 16 hands called Solah bhuji mata and it is 3 foot tall. Devi is holding flower, bow, shield and param in her arms. Here tribal pahan (prist) do the work of everyday puja.
