Sirka Pyaz Recipe 

"Sirke wala pyaz" refers to pickled onions in Hindi, where "sirka" means vinegar and "pyaz" means onions. This is a popular condiment in Indian cuisine and is often served as a side dish or accompaniment to various dishes. This pickled onion recipe is a must at restaurants and can be easily made in minutes at home.

To make sirka  pyaz, you can follow a simple recipe:


  • Baby Onions: 20-30 nos
  • Beetroot diced: 1 cup
  • Vinegar: 1 cup
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar: 1 teaspoon
  • Green Chilly: 2-3 nos
  • water: 1/2 cup
  • Red chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)


  1. Peel all baby onions.
  2. In a bowl, mix the onions, vinegar, salt, sugar, green chillies and beetroots.
  3. Stir well to ensure that the salt and sugar are dissolved.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a clean, airtight jar.
  5. Seal the jar and let it sit at room temperature for at least 2-3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. It will be ready to use after 24 hours .
  7. You can store sirke wala pyaz in the refrigerator for an extended period.
