Savitribai Phule (1831–1897) was an Indian social reformer, educator, and poet who played a significant role in advocating for women's rights and social equality during the 19th century. She is often referred to as the "Mother of Indian Feminism" and is remembered for her contributions to education and social upliftment.

Education Advocacy :- Savitribai and her husband Jyotirao Phule recognized the importance of education as a tool for empowerment. They established the first school for girls in Pune, India, in 1848, breaking social norms and challenging prevailing prejudices against educating girls.

Women's Rights :- Savitribai Phule was a staunch advocate for women's rights and gender equality. She worked to eliminate societal biases that oppressed women, and she encouraged women to actively participate in intellectual and social spheres.

Social Reforms :- The Phule couple was at the forefront of various social reform movements. They fought against caste-based discrimination, untouchability, and other social injustices prevalent at the time. Their efforts were aimed at creating a more just and equitable society.

Literary Contributions :- Apart from her activism, Savitribai Phule was also a prolific writer and poet. Widow Remarriage :- Savitribai Phule advocated for the rights of widows and supported the idea of widow remarriage, which was a radical concept in her time. She worked to challenge the social stigma associated with widowhood and to provide support to widowed women.

Healthcare and Sanitation :- Recognizing the need for healthcare and sanitation, Savitribai Phule also played a role in providing medical care to the marginalized and promoting better hygiene practices.
