They are experts in programming languages, software development, system design, network administration, cybersecurity, and other areas related to computers and information technology. Here are some well-known computer wizards:

  1. Ada Lovelace- The English mathematician is the world's 'First computer programmer'. She recognised the analytical engine which can be built for purposes beyond just number crunching. Lovelace examined how technology can be related to human and society. Born in 1815, Lovelace was much ahead of her time.
  2. Tim Berners-Lee - The inventor of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee is known for his work in developing the first web browser and introducing the concept of hypertext. He is known as the 'Father of the World Wide Web'.
  3. Sabeer Bhatia- He created the hotmail that marked the beginning of a free e-mail industry. 
  4. Bill Gates - The co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates is considered one of the pioneers of the personal computer revolution. He is known for developing the MS-DOS operating system and leading Microsoft to become one of the world's largest software companies. He is considered as one of the smartest computer programmers. He revolutionised the software and computing world with Microsoft. 

  5. Steve Jobs - The co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs is known for his contributions to the development of the personal computer and the introduction of the graphical user interface. He was also instrumental in the creation of popular Apple products like the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

  6. Mark Zuckerberg - The co-founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg is known for creating one of the world's largest social networking platforms. He is also recognized for his work in the fields of artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Mark Zuckerberg changed the way people interacted on the internet and maintained friendships. Facebook has connected billions of people together regardless of geographic distance.

  7. Linus Torvalds - The creator of the Linux operating system, Linus Torvalds is known for his contributions to open-source software development. His work has been instrumental in the development of the internet and cloud computing. Linus Torvalds is the creator of Linux kernel, which became the backbone of Linux OS, Chrome, and Android. He also created the version controlling system Git.
  8. Grace Hopper - Known as the "mother of computing," Grace Hopper was a pioneer in computer programming languages and contributed significantly to the development of the first commercial computer.

  10. Alan Turing- The computer scientist, mathematician, and logician, Alan Turing is the creator of the Turing machine, which simulates computer algorithms. The machine played a vital role in deciphering codes used during World War II. Alan Turing is considered the hero of World War II and the father of modern-day computing.
  11. Larry Page- Google co-founder, Larry Page is known for inventing the search engine along with Sergey Brin. He created the innovative PageRank search engine algorithm that created the foundation of Google Search.
  12. Ken Thompson- Thompson is one of the pioneers of computer science. He implemented the original UNIX operating system, which powers various smartphones, military systems, operating systems, and benign networks. He re-wrote the UNIX into C programming along with Dennis Ritchie in 1973.

These computer wizards and many others have had a significant impact on the development of the computer industry and have changed the way people interact with technology.
