1.The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge :

The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, also known as the Bhupen Hazarika Setu, is a significant infrastructure project in India. It is located in the northeastern state of Assam and spans the Lohit River, which is a tributary of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The bridge has a total length of approximately 9.15 kilometers (around 5.68 miles).

The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge is a three-lane, extradosed bridge. The extradosed design is a hybrid of a cable-stayed and a prestressed concrete box-girder bridge. It connects the town of Dhola in Assam with Sadiya, which is also in Assam. The bridge significantly reduces travel time between the two locations, as it replaced the earlier ferry services that were the primary means of crossing the river. The bridge was inaugurated on May 26, 2017, by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. It was named after the renowned Assamese singer, lyricist, and musician Bhupen Hazarika, who was also a well-known cultural icon.

2. Dibang River Bridge :

The bridge was proposed to be built across the Dibang River in Arunachal Pradesh, which is one of the major rivers in the state. The bridge has a total length of approximately 6.2 kilometers.  The Dibang River Bridge was envisioned to improve connectivity and transportation in the remote and challenging terrain of Arunachal Pradesh. It would have provided a crucial link for the local communities and facilitated the movement of people, goods, and services in the region.

3. Mahatma Gandhi Setu : 

The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is a major bridge in India that spans the River Ganges and connects the capital city of Bihar, Patna, with Hajipur in the state of Bihar. It is one of the longest river bridges in India and holds historical significance as well. The bridge has a total length of approximately 5.75 kilometers (around 3.57 miles). 

• The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is a cantilever bridge, which is a type of bridge structure supported on one end only, while the other end is anchored to the ground.

• Historical Significance: The construction of the bridge began in 1972 and was completed in 1982. It was named after Mahatma Gandhi, the prominent leader of India's independence movement. The bridge aimed to improve connectivity between Patna and Hajipur and boost regional development.

• Importance: The Mahatma Gandhi Setu serves as a crucial transportation link between the north and south parts of Bihar, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and vehicles across the Ganges River.

4. The Bandra-Worli Sea :

 The Bandra-Worli Sea Link, officially known as the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link, is a prominent infrastructure project in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is an iconic cable-stayed bridge that spans the Arabian Sea, connecting the Bandra suburb in Mumbai's western region with the Worli area in South Mumbai. The bridge has a total length of approximately 5.6 kilometers (around 3.48 miles). 

It is a six-lane bridge, which provides a crucial and efficient link between the western and southern parts of Mumbai. The bridge significantly eases traffic congestion in the city by offering a faster route for commuters. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link was inaugurated on June 30, 2009. It was named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.

5. The Bogibeel Bridge :

The Bogibeel Bridge is a significant infrastructure project in India, located in the state of Assam. It is a combined road and rail bridge that spans the Brahmaputra River, connecting the Dibrugarh district on the south bank with the Dhemaji district on the north bank. The bridge has a total length of approximately 4.94 kilometers (around 3.07 miles). It is one of the longest rail-cum-road bridges in India.

 The Bogibeel Bridge is a double-decker bridge, with the lower deck carrying railway tracks and the upper deck serving as a roadway for vehicles. The construction of the Bogibeel Bridge commenced in 2002, and it was inaugurated on December 25, 2018. The bridge is named after the Bogibeel area near Dhemaji district. The bridge is a significant milestone for the region as it provides an important transportation link between the northern and southern banks of the Brahmaputra River. Before the bridge's construction, ferries were the primary means of crossing the river, which was often disrupted during monsoons and caused transportation challenges.

6. Vikramshila Setu : 

The Vikramshila Setu is a bridge across the Ganges near Bhagalpur near Bihar. The bridge has a total length of approximately 4.70 kilometers. It is two lane bridge serves as a link between NH33 and NH31. It runs from Barari ghat on the Bhagalpur side on the south bank of the Ganges to the north bank. It also connect Bhagalpur to Purnia and Katihar. 

7. The Vembanad Rail Bridge :

The Vembanad Rail Bridge, also known as the Vembanadu Bridge, is a significant railway bridge in the state of Kerala, India. It is located in the Kottayam district and spans the Vembanad Lake, which is the longest lake in India. The Vembanad Rail Bridge has a total length of approximately 4.62 kilometers (around 2.87 miles). The bridge is a major railway viaduct, built to carry railway tracks over the Vembanad Lake and its backwaters.  The bridge is an important transportation link as it connects the towns of Edappally and Vallarpadam in Kochi with Kottayam and other parts of Kerala. 8. Digha Sonpur Bridge : 

The Digha Sonpur bridge or J.P Setu is a rail - cum - road bridge across Ganga river, its connecting Digha Ghat in Patna and Pahleja Ghat in Sonpur. The bridge has a total length 4.556 kilometers steel truss bridge. It is the second longest rail - cum - road bridge in India, after Bogibeel Bridge in Assam. 

9.Arrah-Chhapra Rail Bridge :

The project aimed to construct a new railway bridge across the River Ganges, connecting the cities of Arrah and Chhapra in Bihar. The bridge has a total length of approximately 4.35 kilometers. The bridge was planned to be constructed across the River Ganges, connecting the cities of Arrah in Bhojpur district and Chhapra in Saran district of Bihar.

The primary purpose of the new railway bridge was to improve railway connectivity in the region and facilitate the smooth movement of trains, passengers, and freight between Arrah and Chhapra.

10. The Godavari Arch Bridge : 

The Godavari Arch Bridge, also known as the Rajahmundry Bridge, is a significant bridge located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It spans the River Godavari, which is one of the longest rivers in India, and connects the city of Rajahmundry in East Godavari district with Kovvur in West Godavari district. The bridge has a total length of approximately 4.1 kilometers (around 2.55 miles). It is one of the longest bridges in India.

 The Godavari Arch Bridge is an arch-shaped truss bridge. The arch design provides stability and allows the bridge to span the wide river while minimizing the need for piers in the water. The bridge was constructed to improve connectivity between the two districts and enhance transportation and economic activities in the region. It plays a crucial role in facilitating movement and trade across the River Godavari.

The Godavari Arch Bridge was inaugurated in 1997 and is an important landmark in Andhra Pradesh.
